At a time when Black and Brown communities across Wisconsin are facing systemic injustice, political repression, and deep health inequities, ECCHO stands as a powerful force for transformation. We exist to shift the paradigm, reclaim our stories, build grassroots power, and forge visionary paths forward.

Through our two-year civic engagement program, we train and support Black and Brown women in Milwaukee, Rock, and Dane County to become changemakers in their communities. Grounded in civic engagement, health equity, storytelling, and systems change, our members don’t just dream of a better future, they shape it. They lead bold, community-driven projects that are making a tangible, lasting impact.

 

Our work is rooted in the belief that civic health is public health. Strong communities thrive on strong civic infrastructure, just policies, informed leadership, and engaged citizens. When we invest in this foundation, the results are powerful:
